Fax applications are permitted, eMails are accepted only on the understanding that all Conditions of Booking are accepted by the applicant. Applicants not known to Maestro Procter should indicate their experience. A telephone interview may follow. Female applicants should note that the repertoire is always sung at the appropriate pitch, with high clef pieces being transposed down as appropriate. This means soprano parts rarely if ever reaching top F, while Altos will frequently require low F and occasionally E or D. Falsettists are most welcome for Alto parts. Other male voices should note that Renaissance tenor parts are not high, rarely requiring top F, so that lighter baritones able to sustain such a line should indicate this on their applications.
The course is conducted in English and German. The choir is limited to 26 singers. It is strongly recommended that applications be made on receipt of this form, as the selection will be made among the earliest applications. Subsequent applications can only be accepted as choral balance permits.
Each participant is required to make his own travel arrangements - directions for local travel will be sent with acknowledgement of your application.
It is a condition of participation that you be available to sing in the Mass at St Mark's on Sunday, May 17 - this is at 10.30 and finishes by 12.00.
The course ends with lunch (included in the course fee) after the mass.
For the concert (Thursday evening) and the masses singers should bring white shirts or blouses and black trousers or long skirts. The dress code in Italian churches is strict: bare shoulders and shorts are not allowed: for rehearsals in the performance churches appropriate dress must be available.
